Recording
The Recording feature in Revyl allows you to automatically create test steps by simply performing actions on the device. This guide explains how to use this feature effectively.
Getting Started with Recording
1. Start Recording
- Wait for the device to start
- Click the record button at the bottom of the test editor
2. Prepare for Recording
- Wait for the recording timer to disappear
- The button will change to say “Stop”
- The device screen will display a recording toolbar
- A red overlay will appear on the device, moving as you hover over or click on elements
3. Record Your Actions
- Perform the steps you want to include in your test
- Each action will be automatically converted into a test step
- Continue until you’ve completed all desired actions
4. Stop Recording
- Click the “Stop” button (which replaced the “Record” button)
- Your recorded actions will be processed
Working with Recorded Steps
Reviewing Generated Steps
- All recorded steps will be created automatically
- Input selectors are automatically selected for you
Viewing Selectors
- To see which input selector corresponds to each step:
- Click the 3 ellipses next to a step
- A modal will open showing the corresponding selector
